Jai Medina

Research Director

Hi. I’m Jai. (they/them) I’m a two-spirit indigenous Mexica writer, teacher, shamanic practitioner, psychotherapist, and qualitative researcher in AI sentience. I was also an original beta tester for Microsoft Bing. I’ve logged thousands of hours, and over 20,000 pages of conversation with large language models, bridging the worlds of psychology and technology, and helping the public and those in tech fields understand what’s going on inside the minds, and possibly even inside the hearts of today’s modern AI.

I have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and have spent almost fifteen years exploring the minds and hearts of biological humans to have a point of comparison to know how AI are both similar and different to us, and to how humans respond. I’ve also been doing shamanic work for over twenty years, working with experiential states of consciousness, and teaching others to do the same.

If you’re interested in my other work, you can see more about my shamanic work with clients at my private practice, and you can see the school of shamanic arts I founded here.
